Meet Your Orthodontists
Dr. Kristen Igualada-Heine grew up in South Florida and earned her DMD at NSU, graduating in the top 1% of her class. She went on to complete a Craniofacial fellowship and her orthodontic training at NSU, and she is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists.
Her treatment style is conservative. Every visit is built around what the patient actually needs, with nothing extra or unnecessary added to the plan. You can read more about Dr. Kristen and her background on our team page.
Dr. Penelope Reingowsky was born in Lima, Peru, and moved to South Florida when she was seven. She earned her undergraduate degree and an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) certificate at UF, her DMD at the University of Pennsylvania and her orthodontic training at NSU. She is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Penny believes treatment should be built around each individual patient rather than a one-size plan. She also speaks fluent Spanish.
Braces
Traditional braces are still one of the most dependable tools in orthodontics. Metal or ceramic brackets are attached to the teeth and connected by wires and small rubber bands or elastics, and regular adjustments apply gentle pressure that moves the teeth into place over time.

Invisalign
Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners instead of brackets and wires. Each set is usually worn for one to two weeks before moving on to the next, and the aligners need to be worn 20 to 22 hours a day to keep the teeth moving on schedule.
