Sunrise Braces

Traditional braces are one of the most efficient and time-proven orthodontic tools we have for straightening smiles. They are usually made of metal or ceramic brackets attached to the teeth, then connected by wires and tiny rubber bands or elastics. Through regular adjustments with Dr. Kristen and Dr. Penny, the brackets, wires, and bands work together to apply the gentle, continuous pressure to move the teeth into the desired positions gradually.

At Sawgrass Orthodontics, we also offer lingual and In-Ovation braces. Lingual brackets are attached to your teeth’ backsides, so they’re not visible from the front of your smile. In-Ovation® braces are similar to traditional metal braces, but the brackets are designed to be effective without regular adjustments. There are several different options for In-Ovation braces themselves, and you can learn more about all of them with a visit to our offices.

Sunrise braces have a long history of successfully correcting several orthodontic issues. Because they can sometimes work faster at closing gaps and aligning teeth than other options, overall treatment time may be slightly reduced. Traditional braces also require less of the complicated technology and expensive equipment that newer treatments rely on, making them a cost-effective option for straightening smiles.

Sunrise Invisalign

Rather than brackets, wires, and bands, the Sunrise Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to move the teeth into alignment gradually. Invisalign aligners are made of clear plastic material designed to fit snugly and comfortably over the patient’s teeth. The trays are usually switched out every 1-2 weeks for the next in the series to keep the teeth moving in the direction we want them to. Aligners should be worn 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment. This treatment option is popular with both patients and orthodontists and is currently the top alternative to traditional braces.

Patient compliance is crucial with Invisalign since the system can only work if the directions are followed precisely. Patients who neglect to wear the aligners recommended by Dr. Kristen and Dr. Penny can impede the results and add time to the overall orthodontic process.

Invisalign is at its most efficient when correcting many of the most common orthodontic issues. For some complicated cases, Invisalign may not be a viable option. A free consultation with Sawgrass Orthodontics will be able to determine your eligibility for Invisalign.
